Try to compile from the trunk directory instead of trunk/boardcad and type:

    javac boardcad/*.java

    that worked jonas.

but then after creating the .jar I get this when I execute it (its a text file).

I create the .jar exactly as typed on the wiki…

That’s a crash in the java3d module… Not good. It might be related to the problem reported by bryn on the other forum, if not I would put my money on a java3d/driver issure.

i will try to uninstall all java products, restart, reinstall java, compile and run again.

did you run your last revision on eclipse? are you guys able to compile/pack and run?

Been a few days since I updated, will try tonight. I’m using eclipse always, I can’t be bothered with commandline stuff 😉

    Hi,

I haven’t worked on BoardCAD for months, but I’m happy to see that there has been a lot of nice additions to the project. I think Havard has reorganized the file structure, so you’ll need to compile with the following command:

    javac -encoding ISO-8859-1 cadcore/*.java board/*.java board/readers/*.java board/writers/*.java boardcad/*.java boardcad/i18n/*.java boardcad/export/*.java boardcad/gui/jdk/plugin/*.java boardcad/gui/jdk/*.java boardcad/print/*.java boardcad/settings/*.java boardcam/*.java boardcam/cutters/*.java boardcam/holdingsystems/*.java boardcam/toolpathgenerators/*.java boardcam/readers/*.java boardcam/writers/*.java

and then use the following command to run BoardCAD:

    java boardcad.gui.jdk.BoardCAD

We should probably create some kind of build script since it is getting a bit complicated to compile and package the project.

    Thanks Jonas,

but can you show how to pack the program also?

FWIW it’s MUCH easier to compile and generate .jar files if you use an IDE.

Jonas, you’ve been hard to reach lately (kind of like me…). What’s up? Glad to have you back.

Yeah, i know… but it would be even easier (to me) if Jonas posts the cmd commands… bit lazy i know..

will eventually have another crack at Eclipse, how hard is it to setup the project i wonder? You have shown me this before Haavard, but with all the changes in the structure now.. not sure.

Also, you know what boardcad really needs… A way to design the rail curve, how possible??

    regards,
    chico

There really isn’t any change to setting up eclipse even thoug hteh structure changed. You just need to point it to the top trunk directory. It’s a hassle to set up, but just getting compile when editing is worth it IMO (once all the code is compilable you are ready to run) and you get edit and continue which speed up development immensely. Debugging is better, etc.

We could go the route of Shape3D and have 3D beziers. However there are some limitations that would apply.
